Holy Week // Matthew 28
Matthew 28
And finally, we reach the end, the glorious and redeeming resurrection of Jesus. Jesus' resurrection is a key part of our faith. Jesus rising from the dead proved these things:
He did just as He had promised. We can be confident in His words and trust His leading because He will do what He says He will. He will not fail us.
Jesus’ physical body was raised from the dead. He proved that He was not an imposter, but that He was ruler over death and part of God’s eternal kingdom. The same thing He promises us when we put our faith in Him.
Because of His resurrection, we can be certain of ours. Death is not the end, but in Christ, future life awaits.
God is able to bring dead things back to life. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead will bring life into our dead hearts.
Jesus was more than a human leader, His resurrection from the dead proves He is the Son of God.
Jesus' resurrection is something we celebrate each year at Easter and a hope we live by daily in our faith. But His resurrection isn’t the end of the story; Jesus’ last words to His disciples are to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that [He] has commanded and reminding us that He is in fact always with us, because He lives. Jesus’ life means resurrection for us too, but it also means resurrection for the world. God’s working to redeem the broken things around us, and we get to be part of that.
Jesus is alive. Redemption is coming. Hallelujah.
