MULTIPLIER | CHENEY TEAM
Coming to college in 2015, I knew who Jesus was and I was doing my best to follow Him but honestly I had no idea what I was doing. In my first week here at EWU, a friend from my youth group back home contacted me. She told me that she was involved with a church at CWU and that her church was planting on EWUs campus. She ended up coming to Cheney for the launch service on EWUs campus and I decided to go with her. I have been connected to Resonate ever since. I loved the emphasis on gospel community and missional living. Now, a whole six years later I have graduated from EWU and have stuck around in Cheney to join staff with Resonate Church and pursue students at EWU with the gospel.
Joining staff with the church was never my plan. I came to school to pursue a degree so that I could pursue a career in physical therapy but God had other plans for me. Throughout my years in college, I had leaders asking me if I would ever consider joining staff because they saw a vision for my life that I couldn’t see. At first, I didn’t think anything of it. I didn’t see myself as someone who would be in ministry and I honestly didn’t like the sacrifice it would take to pursue ministry. Only God could have brought me to where I am today on staff. By my senior year of college, God had softened my heart towards the idea of ministry and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else with my life. My hope in being on staff is to see lives transformed by the gospel. I hope to be able to reach students who may see themselves as ‘too broken’ for God to love them. I hope to be able to see students who came to college not knowing who Jesus is, leaving college with a relationship with God and a heart to pursue the people around them with the gospel.
College students are at a point in their lives where they are making decisions that will set the trajectory for the rest of their lives. I love being able to walk alongside students and introduce them to Jesus as they are figuring out who they are going to be as an adult. When I first came to college I would have never expected to be where I am now but I am so thankful for a gospel centered community that pushed me to grow into the woman I am today and I want to be able to make an impact on the lives of others for the glory of God. I love that work that I get to do but I would not be able to do any of it without my team of financial supporters. It is such a blessing to have a team of people behind me that are praying for me and passionate about seeing students reached with the gospel on college campuses. It is a joy to be able to share with people around me what God is doing through our ministry and how they can join Him in our ministry even from afar.
