The Power of Your Story
By Chelsy Massa
Dear Christian,
Paul shares with the Corinthian church in 2 Corinthians 5:16-18, “16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
Your story matters. It is a story of a miracle. It is a story of a powerful resurrection.
Yes, I am talking to you. I have not made a mistake. You have been made new. You were once dead, and now you are alive. Not only alive but reconciled to the very God who created you, loved you, and rescued you.
AMEN! HALLELUJAH!
That is a MIRACLE! And we should amplify such a story as yours.
I know you may not feel like your story is worth telling. It may feel “boring” or not as powerful as others. Beloved, do not believe such lies! We send those back to the pits of hell, where they belong. Your story matters. You matter.
You matter, and not like how the world likes to tell us. You matter because the One True God has declared so! He sent His son to die and resurrect that you may know the abundance of resurrection life. That is worth sharing. Your story is not just about you, but about the God who came for you, died for you, resurrected and redeemed you.
We tell our story no matter what (Acts 1:8) because not only is it a story of what God has done, but a story of what He continues to do in you, me, and us. We are new! And we get to see the ever-growing holiness in us as the very Spirit of God dwells in our resurrected selves. Do you believe that?
My dear Christian, value your story because it points to a God who is much worthy of the praise and worship that your story invokes when it is told.
“Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul” (Psalm 66:16).
Love,
Your Beloved Sister
