Life is complex. Things don’t totally go the way we plan. Whether it’s rain on a day we hoped to be sunny, or a tragic death where we hoped to share life with someone for much longer. It’s full of small and massive life-changing moments that we may never get an answer to in this life. For the Christian, we put our hope in the good news that there is someone in control with much more power and knowledge over the outcomes we face each day. Someone wiser than you can comprehend, and more loving than you could ever imagine.
Read Isaiah 55:9-11 (ESV)
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, 11 so My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it.
Reflection:
How would your life change if you trusted God’s ways even when you don’t understand them?
What does this verse reveal about God’s wisdom and sovereignty?
