Even though we were far from perfect, God didn’t abandon us. Instead, He showed His incredible love by sending Jesus to take our place. Today’s reading reminds us that Jesus died for us while we were still sinners. We didn’t do anything to deserve it, but it was all a gift of love and grace. So today, let’s take some time to think about the depth of God’s mercy and what Christ’s sacrifice truly means for us.

Read Romans 5:8 (ESV)

“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Reflection:

  1. How does knowing Christ died for me while I was still a sinner change the way I see my relationship with Him?

  2. What does Jesus’ death on the cross reveal about God’s justice and mercy?
