Matthew 22:1-14, Mark 4:26-32, Luke 13:18-2, Luke 14:7-11

Why do we forget so often that the Kingdom of God is here already?

We are invited to celebrate the coming of the great Kingdom being established by the King Himself, in the here and now.

Matthew 22:11-14 tells us “But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ For many are called, but few are chosen” .

Jesus warns that there is not just a freedom to come into the Kingdom, but also to not recognize where you are. It is the call to treasure and recognize whose Kingdom you are a part of. There is awe, fear, and a sense of honor we should have in knowing that we were chosen to be invited by the King. We should live that out in our daily lives and remember that we aren’t owed such an invitation. It is due to the sacrifice of Christ that we are invited and the reconciliation of Jesus that we get to be chosen by God to enter His kingdom.

Where in your life are you prone to forget you are a part of the bigger Kingdom?
