Matthew 26:17-29, Mark 14:13-25, Luke 22: 7-23, John 13:1-20

The Jewish Passover is a traditional meal used to remember when God saved those who put the blood of a lamb on the doorposts from the last plague in the book of Exodus, liberating the Jewish people from the tyrannical rule of Pharaoh. (Exodus 12).

Jesus celebrates the remembrance of the last time God instituted a sacrifice for Israel in today’s passages. This is all shortly before Jesus Himself, the sacrificial lamb of God for all people, goes before the Cross.

The title of this devotional is "The Final Passover” because Jesus was the final Passover for those who confess He is Lord and believe in their heart that He was raised from the dead (Romans 10:9). When God looks at the Christian person, He passes over their sins and sees only the imputed righteousness of Christ.

Jesus calls us to remember this - remember that His sacrifice was sufficient and that God’s power raised Him from the dead. Showing that God was powerful enough to defeat death and to overcome the very sin that we chose over being with God.

Let us celebrate and remember the sacrifice and the resurrection of Christ daily.
